Casad Services: Design Consultant

Project Overview This vital two-lane Railway Over Bridge (ROB) was constructed on the critical Ahmedabad-Mumbai Railway Line to connect the densely populated areas of Udhana and Limbayat in Surat. As the Design Consultant, CASAD was instrumental in providing the comprehensive structural plans to eliminate a major level crossing, thereby ensuring uninterrupted railway operations, significantly improving urban traffic flow, and enhancing public safety across this key urban bottleneck.

Casad's Scope of Work CASAD's role was to provide end-to-end structural expertise, ensuring the successful execution of this complex overpass connecting two major urban sectors. Our scope included:

  • Detailed Structural Design: Comprehensive structural analysis and design for all 20 spans, including the complex railway and approach sections.

  • Substructure Engineering: Detailing of the Pile Foundation and RCC Pier/Pier Cap system to ensure long-term stability and minimal settlement.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with the Surat Municipal Corporation and the contractor to ensure the structural design was effectively translated into safe and efficient construction activities.

Capabilities in Action

This project showcases CASAD's excellence in delivering specialized structural solutions for crucial public works:

  • Specialized Railway Bridge Design: Expertise in designing superstructures that satisfy the stringent technical requirements of Indian Railways.

  • Hybrid Superstructure Solutions: Proven capability in integrating different structural systems (Steel Composite and PSC Girders) within a single project to meet specific site and constructability demands.

  • Urban Infrastructure Impact: Successful design of infrastructure that dramatically improves connectivity and public safety in a high-density urban environment.
