Project Overview This landmark project represents the successful structural design of Gujarat’s first multi-layer, multi-directional Rail Over Bridge (ROB), addressing one of Surat’s most complex urban junctions. Located in a bustling city area, the flyover was conceived to alleviate severe congestion by connecting three major arterial roads—Bombay Market Road, the Existing Ring Road, and Surat-Kadodra Road—at different vertical levels. The project showcases cutting-edge design to ensure seamless, multi-flow traffic movement over the railway line and existing road network.

Casad's Scope of Work As the structural design consultant, CASAD was responsible for engineering a structurally sound and complex intersection that manages traffic flows at multiple elevations. Our scope included:

• Multi-Layer Structural Analysis: Comprehensive three-dimensional structural analysis and design for all layers, ramps, and connecting spans.

• Multi-Directional Ramp Detailing: Specialized design for the multiple merging and diverging elevated ramps, ensuring the geometric and structural integrity of the complex connections.

• Precast PSC Girder Optimization: Detailed design and specification for the Precast PSC Girder superstructure, focusing on achieving maximum span lengths while maintaining constructability and reducing environmental impact.

• Foundation Engineering: Design of the deep Pile Foundation system to accommodate the substantial and varied loads imposed by the multi-layer bridge geometry.

• Special Feature Design: Engineering the specialized sections required for a multi-layer ROB, accounting for railway clearances, safety buffers, and long-term durability in an aggressively used corridor.
