Project Overview
The Manisha Garnala Railway Over Bridge (ROB) is a critical infrastructure project in the Surat area, designed to replace a problematic level crossing (likely near Railway Culvert No. 454) and connect the Amaroli and Utran sectors near Manisha Society. The project's primary goal was the safe and efficient elimination of the at-grade railway crossing, drastically reducing traffic congestion and ensuring the smooth, uninterrupted passage of both road and rail traffic.
Casad's Scope of Work CASAD provided comprehensive structural engineering design services, ensuring a safe, compliant, and durable structure over the active railway alignment. Our scope of work included:
Structural Scheme Finalization: Determining the optimal structural configuration and material selection for the main railway crossing span.
Foundation Design: Detailed design based on geotechnical reports, including pile cap detailing and eccentricity checks.
Superstructure Detailing: Full design and calculation of PSC Girders, including stressing requirements, camber calculations, and construction sequencing recommendations to minimize risk during erection.
Design for Construction: Preparing a complete design for all structural components, ensuring constructability and efficiency.
Capabilities in Action
CASAD’s proficiency in specialized railway infrastructure design:
Sensitive Railway Corridor Design: Proven experience in structural design for projects spanning active railway lines, requiring zero-error compliance and precise execution planning.
PSC Technology Implementation: Successful application of Pre-Stressed Concrete Girders for bridge superstructures, optimizing for durability, speed of construction, and minimizing long-term maintenance.
Public Safety Enhancement: Designing infrastructure solutions that directly contribute to the significant enhancement of safety for both motorists and train operations by eliminating dangerous level crossings.
