Project Overview

The Nimach – Ratlam Broad Gauge Doubling Project (EPC) involves the doubling of railway tracks in the mid-section between Dalauda (305.15 km) and Ratlam (374.46 km) stations under the Western Railway’s Ratlam division. This strategic infrastructure upgrade, aims to enhance rail capacity, reduce congestion, and improve connectivity in the region.

The project includes construction of new bridges (16 Minor Bridges, 06 Major Bridges), as per RDSO standards.

Casad's Scope of Work

CASAD is responsible for delivering detailed engineering and design solutions, including:

  • Hydraulic & Structural Design

    • Design and detailing for 6 major bridges, including 4 PSC U-slab bridges and 2 PSC U-girder bridges, as per RDSO specifications.

  • Substructure & Superstructure Design

    • Design of substructures for 6 major bridges with open-type foundations and RDSO-approved superstructures.

    • Inclusion of Rail Structure Interaction (RSI) reports for major bridges.

  • Station & Facility Designs

    • Preparation of GADs and design drawings for staff quarters and station buildings at multiple stations along the project route.

  • Additional Structural Components

    • Design of RUB/LHS structures as per site requirements.

    • Preparation of structure designs for 6 RCC box culverts.

  • Earthwork & Embankment

    • Design of blanketing layers for embankments (more than 6 m in height) with grading and soil stability considerations.

    • Detailed analysis of berms and side slope stability in embankments and cuttings.
